This crest symbolises the acknowledgement of Indigenous Law in Australia. Lightening strikes, igniting Indigenous Law represented by the fire amongst the wattle branches, and in turn freeing the kangaroo and emu from the coat of arms of Australia which is the formal symbol of the 'Commonwealth of Australia'. The kangaroo and the emu then warm themselves by the fire.
Created based on the concept by Robbie Thorpe the “Divine Intervention” fire crest was created in collaboration in 2006 in Melbourne in the lead up to the Commonwealth (Stolenwealth) Games, and the Queens visit.
